Agent and Company List Notice
Eligibility is based on each company's underwriting guidelines, and NOT ALL APPLICANTS WILL MEET THOSE GUIDELINES. In addition, NOT ALL COMPANIES SELL IN EVERY AREA OF THE STATE, NOR DO THEY SELL TO NON-MEMBERS. You are encouraged to contact the listed companies or the companies' agents directly to discuss your insurance needs. Understand that even though the companies listed may be selling in Texas, they are not required to offer coverage to everyone. Companies may decide they are not writing insurance at this time or in certain areas. However, state law prohibits a company from rejecting coverage for reasons considered discriminatory.
Under Texas law, an insurance company cannot deny, refuse to renew, limit or charge more for coverage, or unfairly discriminate in any manner because of your race, color, religion, or national origin. Nor can a company discriminate because of your age, gender, marital status, geographic location, or disability or partial disability unless the refusal, limitation, or higher rate is based on sound underwriting or actuarial principles. This means the company must have valid evidence that you present a greater risk for a loss than other insureds it is willing to insure.
Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) rules prevent companies from denying residential property coverage based on the age and value of your home. However, companies may deny coverage because of the condition of the dwelling, including the plumbing, wiring, and heating and air conditioning systems.
Companies included in the current provider listing are subject to change without notice.
